A professional locksmith could not defeat it after trying for 10 minutes. This tumbler lock passes rigorous functional performance tests for keys and locks, Underwriters Laboratory standard UL 437. The Lock cylinder is tested and exceeds 10,000 on/off cycles. Attached dust cap keeps dirt and debris out of lock cylinder.

1. To resist drilling, hardened steel inserts are added to critical sections of the lock face and sidebar.
2. A secondary locking mechanism (the sidebar) can only operate when the tumblers are properly aligned.
3. The pick resistant, unique, chiseled, pointed pin tumblers must be properly elevated and rotated to the proper position for the lock cylinder to operate.
4. Keys require special key cutting machines to precisely duplicate the right, left and center angles. Replacement keys are only available from McGard.
